Open/flexible fieldbus concept
Because the input and ouput drivers have a unit concept, thus if a fieldbus in going to be exchanged, it is not necessary to replace sensors or actuators. This benefits any application that uses INTERBUS today and changes to DeviceNet tomorrow. Exchanging the module is even further simplified because the modules have the same dimensions and wiring scheme.
