Operation in ZONE 2 is just as possible as the direct connection of an intrinsically safe peripheral in Zone 0 and Zone 1 using appropriate bus modules. Comprehensive diagnostic functions allow faults to be accurately located right down to cable level and thus reduce possible downtimes.

Programmable fieldbus controllers increase system availability, and both the specific and local responses to events are provided by decentralized control logic. Bus modules for condition monitoring (preventative maintenance) are included in the range, as are analog measuring modules (AC/DC TRMS) and serial interface modules, which provide protocol gateways to serial field devices.
