Integrating AS-Interface into the I/O Node

AS-Interface represents a cost-effective and flexible solution for the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750. Within one I/O node, inputs and outputs can be merged both directly and by means of an AS-Interface level in a network, e.g. Ethernet or PROFIBUS. This solution enables digital inputs and outputs to be cost effectively bundled together by means of AS-Interface. At the same time special function modules, like fast I/Os or serial interfaces, can directly communicate with the coupler. AS-Interface allows for efficient and compact control units to be designed when programmable controllers are used instead of couplers.

All components comply with version 2.1 of the AS-Interface specification.
The Master is integrated into the I/O node the same way as other 750 series I/O modules.
The slaves are available in a 4- and 8-channel IP67 housing

All connections to the module, including the AS-interface connection, the actuator supply connection, and connections to the I/O, are made via separate WAGO MULTI CONNECTION (MCS) pluggable terminal blocks.

The AS-interface flat network cable passes through the module, making a direct network connection. The module provides a short circuit proof sensor supply.
