CoDeSys, one of the most common IEC 61131-3 programming tools will soon conform to the safety requirements of the PLCopen Group. Thus, it ideally supplements the range of WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750 safety products.

A consortium consisting of the companies 3S, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth and WAGO has taken the decision to create a safe development and runtime environment in accordance with IEC 61508 and IEC 61131-3 on the basis of CoDeSys 3.0. The implementation of safety functions is supposed to open up new markets for CoDeSys.

CoDeSys already offers strong competitive advantages like: support of all five programming languages, machine code for all relevant processors or the combination of higher level or graphical programming languages with the easy handling and the functionality of a PLC programming system.
