Housed in a state-of-the-art, 75,000+ square foot facility in Germantown, Wisconsin, WAGO's North American headquarters, WAGO Corporation, houses engineering, design, manufacturing and a fully automated distribution center.

This facility -- opened in 1999 -- houses product design, CAD and manufacturing for electronic products, including surface mount circuit board assembly for I/O modules and other products. Value-added services include complete pre-assembled DIN Rail assemblies to customer specification, fully populated with terminal blocks and related electronic products including the WAGO I/O SYSTEM, signal conditioning, interface modules and power supplies.

The building itself features many advanced systems. Building Energy Management, including control of HVAC, lighting and production machines is controlled by a LON fieldbus system, demonstrating WAGO LON modules and software.

All WAGO product cartons are now bar code readable and the new warehouse and distribution center takes full advantage, with rf bar code readers and a 3-aisle robot controlled retrieval system with 3500 product locations.

WAGO Corporation has emphasized use of its own and customers' products throughout the building as practical demonstrations -- these include elevator controls, fluorescent lighting ballasts, LON controls, automated robots and junction box wire connectors.
