From tissues to DVDs to tablets - products almost always come in some sort of packaging. There is no way around automation technology when it comes to packing products quickly, accurately and fully automatically. The machine manufacturer Heino Ilsemann needs, above all, compact systems for their machines that can be controlled locally. That is why Ilsemann uses the fieldbus-independent WAGO-I/O System 750.

The Bremen-based Heino Ilsemann GmbH has focused on the development and production of packing machines during its 43-year history. These machines package products for the pharmaceutical, paper and multimedia industries and are used by customers in more than 60 countries around the globe. Among Ilsemann's products are robust DVD packaging machines - driven by mechanical cams and monitored by a PLC.

Universal Profibus is used here. Three Profibus DP/V1 fieldbus couplers of series 750-333, which are used for processing of analog signals, are accommodated in the largest DVD packaging machine that Ilsemann builds. Besides the fieldbus couplers, space-saving series 870 modules are also used. Ilsemann values the size of the WAGO I/O components as well as their modular design.

The new WAGO SPEEDWAY 767 system is to be used in the machines in the future to achieve even greater performance and functionality.
In addition to the WAGO I/O SYSTEM, series 280 rail-mounted terminal blocks, among others, are also employed to facilitate wiring in the machine.
